Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sandwich Maker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of sandwiches and ensuring that all food items meet our high standards for quality and presentation. You will work in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. You may also be responsible for basic prep such as slicing vegetables, cheeses, and organizing produce and product.

Duties

Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to customer specifications and menu standards. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment. Assist in the organization of food supplies and inventory management within the kitchen. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper usage at all times. Help train new staff members on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and answering questions regarding menu items. Answering phone calls and taking orders accurately and in a timely manner. Handle cash register transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.

Skills

Proficiency in food preparation techniques. Knowledge of sanitation practices to maintain a clean working environment. Experience in retail, a full service restaurant, or a fast food setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with retail math for managing inventory and sales transactions. Background in food service. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, grills, and ovens. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Able to obtain an ANSI certified food handlers certificate within 30 days of hire.
