Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sandblaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting and finishing by removing old paint, rust, and other contaminants using sandblasting techniques. This role requires attention to detail and a strong understanding of various materials and their properties. The Sandblaster will work closely with other construction professionals to ensure high-quality results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to prepare surfaces for painting or finishing. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications. Maintain equipment by performing regular inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs. Collaborate with carpenters and other construction professionals to ensure proper surface preparation. Apply knowledge of color theory to assist in selecting appropriate finishes. Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear at all times while working. Document work completed and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.

Skills

Proficient in the use of power tools related to sandblasting and surface preparation. Strong understanding of drywall installation techniques and frame carpentry. Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately. Knowledge of construction painting techniques and materials. Familiarity with color theory as it pertains to finishing processes. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
