Overview

What We Are: The Workhouse is a multifaceted arts/crafts space with studios, a gift shop/gallery, and community table where artists and community members can interact, collaborate, share, learn, make and sell art.

Our mission is also multifaceted: to be a stable and enduring place where creative people have studios in which they can explore their medium, ply their trade, find camaraderie and support, and operate the business of their practice or craft in an open and supportive space.

We operate as a place of exchange for creative people and the community both in the sale of goods and in the exchange of ideas, creative expression and mutual support. We offer our space to the community as a place where networking, conversations, workshops, performances, exhibitions, pop-ups and general community building might occur.

Duties

Studio Member Support and Rapport building-

Engaging with Studio members- both to strengthen community bonds of trust and camaraderie and to inform your capacity as a docent and sales representative on their behalf

Customer Service -

Administering sales at the POS; Administering Online Sales; Setting the Vibe- Welcoming, Warm, Informative, Helpful; Keeping things clean, organized and nicely merchandized

Inventory Maintenance and Stocking

Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop

Requirements

Min two years experience in customer service, sales; gallery is preferred but not required, training will be provided for the right candidate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse clients, studio members, and owner Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Self-motivated with a proactive approach to reaching sales goals Ability to work independently and self motivate to identify and complete tasks during down time A positive attitude and professional appearance. Enthusiasm for helping customers and generating sales. Ability to grow and communicate broad knowledge base pertaining to represented artists and product. Experience with Shopify, online sales, and merchandizing, a plus!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
