Sales Trainee

(Outside Sales-UTAH)



JOB DIMENSIONS:



Job Summary:



Under general supervision, learns product line and sales methods in support of District or Regional Sales Manager; and performs related duties as assigned.



Reports to:



District or Regional Sales Manager



Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:



Answers and directs incoming calls; Provides technical product informa tion to customers; Prepares quotations; Receives orders by phone and email; Enters and expedites customer orders; Communicates in person with distributors to establish working relationships; Helps customers with warranty service work; Assists with calls on engineers regarding project work; Travels overnight with District Sales Representative or Regional Manager to meet customer base; Assists in the setup and implementation of engineering seminars and service training seminars; Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Experience/Training/Education:



Some sales or customer relations experience is desirable, preferably supplemented by knowledge of various company product lines.



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:



Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Knowledge of customer relations practices and sales principles; Ability to schedule calendar and organize own work; Ability to perform light mechanical work to provide some onsite service and demonstrate product applications; Ability to work with minimal direction; Ability to read and understand schematics and engineering drawings; Ability to complete and maintain sales and expense records; Ability to learn company pricing and delivery systems; Ability to learn technical specifications, applications, and performance levels associated with various product lines; Ability to quote pricing and delivery terms for standard products using established price sheets;

Physical Requirements:



Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, stretch, lift, move, and carry various materials and products when assisting with field warranty and service work and showing product samples; Ability to access and work in valve installation and service areas; Ability to operate a motor vehicle; Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office equipment, as applicable; For tasks performed indoors, temperature is moderate and controlled by office environment systems; Ability to work (sit and/or stand) at a desk, as applicable; walking and/or standing may be required for the remainder of the work day. Length of time performing these physical requirements may vary from day to day and task to task; Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity; Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.

Special Requirements:



Be willing to enroll in the company Driver Monitoring program; Requires possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Possess a valid US Passport, and Ability to travel on company business approximately 50%
