GDS manufactures, paints, sells, and distributes its Skinz worldwide. GDS is also quickly moving into all other categories of protective headwear: baseball, softball, lacrosse, hockey, snow sports, motorsports, military, and more. The primary role of the Sales Rep is to utilize their existing network, and to open new channels to expand their network, of decision makers for high school and college football, baseball, and softball teams and sell them GDS products. GDS is currently focusing on the football market, but rolling out baseball and softball later this year. Plus, you will have the opportunity to sell decals, thus increasing the commission opportunity per sale.
The Sales Rep will have the opportunity to earn an industry-leading incentive plan based on selling the products. The Reps will make new prospects aware of the GDS products, lead them through an education and sales process, close the deal, and finally maintain a relationship with the client to ensure re-orders and upsells. Reps should be the client's advocate internally to ensure they receive their orders on time and accurately. Responsibilities:
Adhere to a proven sales strategy and a strict schedule of prospecting
Drive awareness:
Utilize existing network of decision-makers (coaches, athletic directors, equipment managers, boosters, players and parents) to make them aware of the GDS products
Open new relationships with the above-mentioned decision makers
Target large channels such as Pop Warner athletic organizations, football conferences and divisions (High School and College)
Sales Process:
Schedule demos with prospects
Deliver GDS samples, colors, finishes, and design options
Set expectations (product uses, timing, installation requirements, etc.)
Consultative sale based on the personality and design requirements of each team
Close the Sale:
Take the client's order - colors, decals, number of helmets
Get team's helmet inventory - sizes and brands
Decision maker's signature and payment source
Meet or exceed monthly sales goals
Post-Sale Activities:
Ensure order is accurate and entered correctly into GDS system
Ensure revenue has been collected - assist with any contact info or delays
Stay in contact with the clients as needed
Ensure order is received on-time and is accurate
Present new options and products to clients - look for upsells, re-orders, and special events (e.g., homecoming, rivalry games, playoffs or bowl games, appreciation games)
Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years sales experience (selling products to schools, teams, or other similar organizations preferred but not required)
Coaching/sports-related background (preferably football) with expansive decision-maker contacts
Experience with tracking sales metrics - and providing regular reports to company
Must be professional and an exceptional representative of the GDS products
Prefer reps with deep sports knowledge and able to "talk shop" with prospects/clients
Prefer deep community involvement
Problem solver and trust builder
Previous sales and/or client service experience
