The Sales Representative is responsible for customer development, providing and negotiating pricing agreements for Fire Life Safety Systems as well as maintaining existing customer relationships.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare preliminary plans, estimates and proposals in accordance with company policy and present bid packages to customers in a professional and timely manner.
Follow up with customers to ensure receipt of proposal and answer any questions.
Pro-actively identify, pursue and sell all life safety services opportunities with existing and new customers.
Deliver the budgeted dollar volume and profit.
Develop relations and maintain business contacts.
Review each job awarded for compliance with estimate and proposal terms prior to the District Manager for review.
Review all bids with the District Manager and Superintendent prior to bidding to customer.
Any job estimated at $150,000 and above must be presented and approved by the Senior VP of Operations and VP of Operations.
Maintain a sales activity detail.
Track jobs to completion, assuring that all valid extras are quoted and closed.
After the award of project, procure all drawings, specs, etc. as required to properly book and design project. Work with Administrative Assistant in aiding with the collection of invoices, making sure they are current.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), with a College Degree a plus
6-8 years of proven construction sales experience
NICET in fire protection design preferred
A proven track record of selling work; managing the jobs they sell and those jobs making a good margin
Experience in commercial fire protection industry
Willing to work together as a team with other departments and company locations
Ability to analyze, assess and address customer needs
Active listener with critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid State Driver License
Previous work references must be provided
Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
Mostly quiet office environment, but may have moderate noise with computers, printers, and light traffic
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
May visit construction job sites from time to time, may be indoors or outside
