POSITION PROFILE:

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities and goals in assigned market. Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of sales goals and profitability to exceed revenue matrixes, gain market share, and grow new account business. Ability to analyze business based on need times vs in season business. Ability to evaluate business based on room nights to meeting space ratios.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Develop a marketing strategy to analyze historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create a selling strategy to balance hotel objectives and maximize revenue potentials. Identify business opportunities by being aware of prospective clients and evaluating their position in the marketplace to leverage the sales relationship to maximize revenue. Target high revenue sales calls to ensure successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established for the particular market. Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect proposals submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin. Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth and repeat potential. Produce monthly reports/sales forecasts to evaluate current/potential markets and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure sales meet or exceed established revenue plan goals. Exhibit a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintain open communication with all co-workers and managers for the best overall performance of the hotel. Champion a hospitable culture that promotes a healthy and productive format of serving others with excellence. Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotels and departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the Sales office and prospective clients. Maintain well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system to serve clients and employer in the most expedient, organized, and knowledgeable manner. Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services to include marketing strategy, sales techniques, and tactics to capitalize on profit margins. Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues. Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner. Achieve/exceed sales room night and banquet revenue goals as outlined by director of sales Achieve activity goals (call goals, solicitation, appointments, etc.) as established by management and complete all reports and assignments in an accurate and timely fashion. Focus on revenue-producing activity and selling time by a strategic plan that maximizes direct sales efforts. Coordinate sale calls into market, and attendance at key conferences with strategic partners (i.e. CVB, Sister Hotels, etc.) to allow for max reach and lead production. Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Two to four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.

Experience:

Hotel Sales experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to perform critical analysis and manage wide-range of information. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication that properly reflect the Foundation Image. Listen effectively. Ability to delegate, manage manpower and organize complex projects and establishes priorities consistent with department/hotel objectives.
