Summary

A Senior Strategic Proposal and Bid Manager is responsible for managing comprehensive strategic bids and/or large national proposal opportunities from qualification to contract award, including early and ongoing strategy development with senior leadership, legal review, solution development, winning price development, partner identification, risk management, proposal development, stakeholder management, and management of the customer relationship for the procurement.

The Senior Strategic Proposal and Bid Manager will be responsible for various components of the pursuit including generation of proposal related content, documentation, archiving, content management and reporting dashboards for large strategic National bids. This includes but not limited to writing customer-focused proposals, RFP responses and customer presentations. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing both public and private solicitations (RFI\'s, RFP\'s, RFQ\'s), and provide proposal development and production support activities.

This role requires an individual with excellent technical writing, process management, technical review, time management and communication skills associated with large, strategic national pursuits. This position will be charged with coordination and tracking the generation of content related developing a compelling response by translating requirements, sales strategy and solutions into engaging, customer-ready documents. This role\'s contributions directly impact our proposal quality and win rate.

Additionally, the Senior Strategic Proposal and Bid Manager will oversee the day to day activities of the staff to ensure effective, efficient, timely, and reliable client support is delivered. Coaches and counsels employees on performance, sets performance standards, recommends pay actions, and responsible for other HR action. As workload allows, the position will be also tasked with client research, data mining, and support activities including RFI capability presentations.

Essential Functions

  • Assess requirements for appropriate response formatting and deliverables to meet client expectations. Working with the Proposal Manager and other team members to establish and help enforce and adherence to the proposal development schedule Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); and managing/moderating pursuit team meetings Meets proposal deadline by supporting priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections
  • Manage, author and oversee content management software and libraries needed to support proposal responses Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials Prepares presentation by evaluating text, graphics, and binding; coordinating printing Assuring that all proposal documents and graphics remain in compliance with solicitation requirements and Proposal Manager instructions Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases Maintaining version control of all proposal documents and frequent, consistent, clear communication with proposal teams and integrating disparate proposal sections from multiple authors into a clear and compelling proposal
  • Improves proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate; implementing changes Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks Upload and maintain content and proposals in CRM content libraries Editing and performing general quality control on all proposal content at multiple points in the proposal development process Performing desktop publishing activities and creating proposal graphics (e.g., organization charts and process flow diagrams)
  • Support the HQ Executive Visit process Support all facets of the HQ Executive visit including speaker bios, presentation material, handouts, conference calls, executive briefs and work with logistics support to ensure a positive customer experience on every visit Support HQ Executive visit reporting dashboard in Salesforce.com

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail, be highly organized, and have the ability to multitask across 2-5 national proposals per week when necessary
  • Can work well both autonomously and with cross functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks as needed to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite( PowerPoint , Word, Excel )
  • Proficient with Adobe Pro Suite
  • Experience with InDesign software( graphic design experience a plus)
  • Experience supporting large sales organizations
  • Experience with using and updating a content management system
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree required marketing, journalism, english, communications or similar required
  • Master\'s degree preferred related field
  • Eight (8) years or more in a Proposal development role or similar required
  • Eight (8) years or more in sales enablement content leveraging CRM\xe2\x80\x99s to create proposal related responses, position content for proposal delivery based on the sales cycle, manage content and proposal libraries, build reports and dashboards to communicate analytics to senior leadership and leverage debriefs to implement best practices that can be quicklyadopted across the organization required
  • Four (4) years or more years leading large national pursuits as an Independent and strategic thinker who can critically evaluate technical requirements and customize a formal proposal response required
  • Three (3) years or more in a B2B Logistics and Transportation related proposal pursuits required
  • Other Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Certification
  • Other Project Management (PMP)certification
Travel - 20-30%

Applicants from California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York City, and Washington - Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant\xe2\x80\x99s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $135,000. Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.
