Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to foster loyalty and satisfaction Assist shoppers with product inquiries, offering knowledgeable recommendations and conducting engaging product demos when appropriate Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and processing credit/debit payments Upsell related products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer needs are met Maintain attractive merchandise displays through effective merchandising and stocking practices Manage inventory by restocking shelves, organizing stock rooms, and conducting regular stock checks Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely Support store operations by performing cashier duties, including basic math calculations for transactions and refunds Ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and inviting to enhance the shopping experience Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet sales goals and improve store performance

Requirements

Prior retail sales experience is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership opportunities Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual setting is highly desirable Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions Experience in grocery stores or similar environments is advantageous Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and standing for extended periods Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle inquiries professionally Demonstrated upselling techniques to enhance sales performance Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments enhances your fit for this role Bilingual abilities can be an asset in serving a diverse customer base
