Overview

Associated General Contractors of South Dakota is seeking a Training and Safety Specialist. As a Training and Safety Specialist, you will work with all Safety related Committees and entities to promote Safety throughout the State through various activities designated by the Safety Committee. You'll work with a tight-knit team and have the opportunity to advocate for many important construction needs in our state.

Responsibilities

Develop, schedule, deliver and/or promote all trainings identified by AGC Committees to fulfill member services requests. Safety (OSHA/Equipment Operator/Webinars), Workforce Development (STP/PMDP/NCCER/Leadership) Maintain and assess all Contract Trainers to assist with other training needs. Direct all current Apprenticeship Training Programs. Oversee Instructors. Gather and report all items needed for Program Requirements. Direct Promotion and Recruiting of Member Companies and Employees. Lead all Safety Committees and Sub-Committees. Safety Summit and Safety Committee Quarterly Luncheons. Develop reports/budgets and advise on all activities as needed for AGC Boards. Provide AGC members guidance and best practices based on OSHA/MSHA and other Federal/State/City safety regulations. Facilitate AGC of SD Safety or other Safety Awards. Facilitate and promote working relationships between regulatory bodies (OSHA/MSHA) and AGC members. Contribute content for Association publications (newsletter articles, website, etc.)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, or related field preferred. Proven experience in safety management within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance management, and risk management practices. Familiarity with construction management software is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and influence others effectively. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies. Certification in safety (e.g., CSP, CHST) is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
