Position Summary




The

Safety Training Coordinator

is responsible for overseeing, managing, and delivering safety training for Prairie Field Services employees. This role ensures employees are properly trained to perform their duties safely by coordinating, conducting, and documenting all required training. This position reports directly to the Safety and Compliance Manager.

Key Responsibilities



Coordinate with Human Resources and Operations to schedule and facilitate company-wide onboarding and annual training. Conduct PEC SafeLand USA, Medic First Aid, and H2S Clear training sessions, ensuring instructor certifications are current. Ensure all training requirements for safety-sensitive positions are completed and documented. Oversee field training programs and support development of on-the-job trainers for new drivers. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness; recommend improvements to enhance safety performance. Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop targeted safety programs. Maintain accurate and compliant training records and documentation. Conduct safety meetings and deliver training presentations on health, safety, and operational expectations. Serve as a team member in corporate health and safety audits. Participate in spill and emergency response drills as part of the Incident Response Team. Respond to incidents and assist with investigations, including data collection and report preparation. Ensure supervisors are trained to support the incident investigation process. Research industry trends and regulatory changes to keep training and safety protocols current. Promote consistent safety messaging and "Learning from Incidents" awareness across the company. Develop interactive and engaging training methods. Ensure emergency response and safety equipment is properly inspected, maintained, and operational. Provide safety support for special projects and emergencies as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

5+ years

of or oil & gas experience required.

3+ years

of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience. Knowledge of OSHA health, safety, and emergency response regulations. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct incident investigations and apply safety principles in operations. Strong organizational and computer skills.

Preferred Skills



PEC Certified Trainer and Medic First Aid certification. Ability to develop engaging training materials and maintain strong documentation. Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and federal/state safety requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Positive attitude, strong initiative, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Work Conditions



Primarily office-based with

up to 40% overnight travel

. Exposure to midstream petroleum environments including chemicals, pipelines, tanks, pressure vessels, and heavy vehicle operations. Work may involve varying weather, road, and outdoor conditions. Must be available for occasional weekends or after-hours emergencies.

Physical Requirements



Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and conduct visual inspections. Perform precise hand and finger movements; reach, grasp, bend, and lift up to

50 lbs

. Must wear all required PPE.
