Job Description

A-1 Electrical Contractors, Inc is seeking a Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering the company's safety and health programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors by promoting a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Safety Manager works closely with management, field leadership, and employees to proactively identify risks and ensure that safe work practices are followed on all electrical construction projects.




Key Responsibilities:




Develop, implement, and maintain the company's safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and other applicable safety standards. Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, or practices and recommend corrective actions. Lead investigations of all accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and track corrective actions to completion. Coordinate and deliver safety-related training for all employees, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and task-specific training. Maintain all safety documentation and records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident reports, in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with project managers and foremen to develop and implement job-specific safety plans, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure all electrical safety protocols, including arc flash protection, grounding, and PPE compliance are followed on every job site. Monitor subcontractor activities for compliance with company safety standards and project-specific safety requirements. Serve as the company's representative during OSHA inspections and coordinate responses to citations or violations if applicable. Analyze safety metrics and trends to recommend improvements in processes, training, and hazard prevention measures. Promote and reinforce a culture of safety through communication, coaching, and recognition programs.



Qualifications:




Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction safety management, preferably within the electrical contracting industry. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and NFPA 70E safety standards. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required; additional credentials such as CHST, COSS, COSM preferred. OSHA 500/510 credential preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviors at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software. Ability to travel to various job sites as required.



Physical Requirements:




Ability to walk, stand, and climb for extended periods on construction sites. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and navigate uneven or rough terrain. Tolerance for outdoor working conditions including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
