AZZ Metal Coatings - Reno Safety Inspector Job Summary Collects data on work environments for analysis by occupational health and safety specialists. Implements and conducts evaluation of programs designed to limit chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks to workers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Tests workplaces for environmental hazards, such as exposure to radiation, chemical or biological hazards, or excessive noise.
• Verifies availability or monitor use of safety equipment, such as hearing protection or respirators.
• Supplies, operates, or maintains personal protective equipment.
• Evaluates situations or makes determinations when a worker has refused to work on the grounds that danger or potential harm exists.
• Maintains all required environmental records and documentation.
• Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
• Proposes improvements to processes.
• Acts as a lead, coordinating the work of others but is not a supervisor.
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
