Division: Steel Dynamics Overview:
Responsible for the coordinating safety activities, reporting, and adherence and implementing a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Loss Prevention Program.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain corporate safety policies and programs
Complete OSHA, Health, and Safety recordkeeping and reporting
Provide direction, support, and resources to site managers and supervisors to achieve facility safety goals
Conduct pre-job assessments, inspections and audits of worksite and facility
Facilitate safety training for new employees, visitors, and contractors
Support accident investigations and address day-to-day safety-related issues (questions, concerns, comments) from employees and contractors
Evaluate and purchase appropriate safety-related equipment for employees
Submit all required safety reports as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related discipline
3+ years experience working in Safety or related area
Completion of 30 Hour OSHA training
Ability to travel and willing to work a flexible schedule
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
