Safety Coordinator

Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator will support, implement, and monitor safety initiatives across our construction projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe work environment for all employees, subcontractors, and visitors, while promoting our company's high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

Develop and Implement Safety Programs

Assist in the creation, improvement, and rollout of safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Conduct Safety Inspections and Audits

Perform regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and compliance audits to ensure safe working conditions.

Safety Training and Orientation

Facilitate trainings, toolbox talks, and new-hire safety orientations.

Incident Investigations

Respond to and investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents; document findings and recommend corrective actions.

Safety Communication

Promote consistent communication of safety expectations, updates, and best practices across all teams.

Emergency Preparedness

Ensure job sites are properly prepared for emergencies through planning, drills, and training.

Regulatory Compliance

Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, state, federal, and company safety regulations.

Reporting

Prepare and maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and incident documentation.

Safety Equipment and Gear

Maintain inventory, inspect equipment, and ensure employees use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience Requirements

Minimum

1-3 years of construction safety experience

Civil construction safety experience preferred

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with field teams
