We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to oversee and enhance workplace safety protocols within our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. This role is vital in fostering a safe work environment, reducing workplace incidents, and promoting occupational health initiatives. The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with management and staff to identify hazards, conduct training, and ensure adherence to safety policies.
Duties
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and Workers' Compensation laws.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions focused on OSHA compliance, occupational health, first aid, CPR, and other relevant topics.
Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, safety audits, training records, and report writing.
Ensure compliance with environmental health standards (EHS) and workers' compensation law requirements.
Collaborate with management on workers' compensation claims and develop strategies for injury prevention.
Stay current on industry regulations and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
Promote a culture of safety through ongoing training & development initiatives and employee engagement programs.
Experience
Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial settings with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and occupational health principles.
Prior experience in report writing, root cause analysis, and developing safety protocols is highly desirable.
Knowledge of EPA regulations related to environmental health is preferred.
Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, OSHA training courses, or EHS certifications are advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to conduct training & development sessions effectively for diverse teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis for workplace incidents.
