Job Description

The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of the organization's health and safety programs. This role works closely with leadership and field personnel to ensure compliance with safety regulations, reduce workplace hazards, and promote a culture of safety. The Safety Coordinator conducts inspections, delivers training, investigates incidents, and helps maintain all required safety documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Compliance & Program Support

Assist in developing and updating company safety policies, procedures, and safety plans. Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.

Field & Workplace Safety Oversight

Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments across job sites or facilities. Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, equipment, and safe work practices. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

Training & Safety Communication

Conduct safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors. Deliver or coordinate training on topics such as hazard communication, PPE, fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space, or job-specific safety requirements. Lead daily/weekly safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.

Incident Response & Reporting

Respond to safety incidents, accidents, and near misses. Lead or assist with incident investigations to determine root causes. Prepare and maintain detailed reports, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation.

Continuous Improvement

Support company safety initiatives and safety committee activities. Track safety metrics and help develop strategies for improvement. Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, engagement, and positive reinforcement.

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, industrial safety, or related field (experience requirements may vary by industry). Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety standards. Valid safety certifications preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, HAZCOM). Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently, travel to job sites, and interact with all levels of personnel.

Working Conditions

Work may be performed in both office and field environments. Exposure to outdoor conditions, equipment, and varying job site hazards depending on industry. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
Pay: $47,171.28 - $75,000.00 per year
