Job Position: Safety & Training Specialist Position Summary:
The Safety and Training Specialist is responsible to ensure that all job specific training for the manufacturing and distribution centers positions have been completed and certified. Ensure all new hires are fully and properly trained on company policies and procedures, safety, and preferred methods using specified best one-way training methods.
Provide Safety support and validate compliance with federal, state, and local laws for the Company to maintain, promote and exceed safety standards. Keep leadership informed on all training and re- certification progress for all compliance trainings. Maintain in house training equipment, materials, and facilities for up-to-date standards. This position will assist with implementing programs to drive a culture of safety at each location. This leader will facilitate and support all safety KPI\xe2\x80\x99s that drive the manufacturing and distribution scorecard. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and facilitate safety training with employees and associates
• Administer training records through existing software and ensure all class completions are entered into the appropriate learning management system.
• Maintain records of trainings, injuries, and other related events
• Follow and improve document control procedures.
• Promote a culture of prevention by identifying all potential unsafe conditions and behaviors and leading the effort among all associates to address them
• Participate in the thorough and complete investigation of all accidents, incidents, and near misses to ensure proper mitigations and resolutions are permanently implemented
• Engage regularly and directly with new hires on their progress and the effectiveness of the training they are receiving. Tailor training methods and frequency to optimize opportunities for success for each individual.
• Ensure all training guides, materials, videos, job aides, and other means of communication for safety training purposes are readily available and in active use
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field
• Three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 supervisory Experience in Training, Environmental and Safety or equivalent.
• ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OSHA 10 certification a plus.
• 3 - 5 years of experience. Knowledge of:
• OSHA standards, NFPA requirements, NRS and NAC codes and requirements.
• Authorized OSHA 500/510
• Fundamental knowledge of presentation techniques including the use of audio/visual projection equipment during training courses, and how to deliver effective training
• Experience operating computers, software and other electronic devices relative to training
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Power Point
• Experienced with Alchemy or other learning based management programs
• Can read and write in both English and Spanish

• 8 hour shift
