Key Responsibilities
Support healthcare project management activities -- including planning, tracking milestones, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Assist with process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or PDCA methodologies.
Apply industrial engineering principles to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and capacity planning.
Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and root cause investigations to support decision-making.
Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate data-driven insights to leadership.
Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to implement, sustain, and monitor process improvements.
Participate in ongoing initiatives focused on quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Required:
Current student enrolled at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
Academic background relevant to the co-op department's area of focus.
Preferred:
Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Prior internship or coursework in healthcare operations, analytics, or process improvement.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or PDCA methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Minitab).
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
