Rope Splicer / Machine Operator 2nd Shift

Job Description

Job Summary:
The primary role of Rope Splicer is production of basic splices unassisted, while Machine Operators perform production steps associated with operating twisting, winding, braiding and/or finishing machines.

This role will be trained for both functions, and will float between Rigging and Machine Operation based upon production needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform basic splices, double braid splices, single braid splices and Yale whiplock Obtain and maintain splicer certification Inspect and approve product as suitable before adding any additional value Reconcile and understand description, bills of materials, and picture maintenance Operate and monitor machines to ensure they are running efficiently and producing high-quality products; follow machine specific preventive maintenance schedules Perform routine maintenance on machines to keep them in optimal condition Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the production process Comply with Company quality assurance expectations and packaging requirements Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
Experience:

Timeliness and consistent dependability in arrival to work for each shift. Rope experience is desired but not required Previous experience in manufacturing environment a plus Experience with or ability to learn to read drawing Demonstrated mechanical aptitude a plus. Ability to follow detailed operating instructions and perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)Previous splicing and rigging experience a plus Attention to detail and craftsmanship Ability to learn and utilize Yale's quality assurance expectations and packaging requirements. Strong time management skills Full finger and hand dexterity Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly Ability to bend, stand, kneel, twist, pull and work overhead. (Standing for over 90% of workday
