Job Title: Rolling Stock - System Engineer
Location: Oakland, CA (Onsite)
Duration: Contract / Fulltime
MUST HAVE: MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL, RAIL, CBTC, WIRE HARNESS,
BRAKING & SPEED SENSOR KNOWLEDGE, COMMUNICATION WIRING, ROLLING STOCK PREFERRED EX ALSTOM TRAIN / BOMBARDIER TRAINS/BART
Job description:
Looking for a Rolling Stock System Engineer with strong
systems integration and interface management
across mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems. Proficiency inrailway industry standards
(EN50126/8/9, TSI) and tools likeIBM DOORS
for requirements management is essential. Experience withsafety-critical systems
,validation/testing
, andonboard technologies
(ETCS, CBTC, TCMS, HVAC, braking, traction) is also crucial.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related field. Strong understanding of railway systems and operations: locomotives, EMUs, DMUs, high-speed and freight trains. Experience in system engineering, integration, and interface management involving electrical/electronic systems (HV/MV/LV), traction, braking, signaling (ETCS, CBTC, PTC), interlocking, HVAC, and TCMS. Proven ability to work with mixed traffic operations (high-speed, freight, commuter). Familiarity with configuration management, system performance evaluation, and validation techniques. Proficiency with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS. Working knowledge of international standards and safety norms (EN, UIC, TSI, EN50126/28/29).
