Robotics Operator Data Collection

Boston, MA, US, United States

Job Description

Company Summary

We envision a world where everyone has access to robots that perform tasks many of us don't want to do--such as folding clothes or washing dishes. The problem is, we can't simply tell a robot to fold clothes, it has to be taught the precise motions to mimic. Sensei solves this by designing an exoskeleton of sensors to be equipped by human operators, enabling us to teach robots a variety of tasks.

Sensei is a high-growth early-stage robotics company backed by Y-Combinator, a world-class startup accelerator.

Compensation:

$27 per hour. Paid lunch hour, and all breaks are paid. At Sensei we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.

We are seeking experienced operators that want to grow with our company and share our vision to build the future.

This is a 3-month temporary employee (W-2) role.

Responsibilities:

Perform repeated, hands-on tasks while wearing the robotic equipment (15 lb), such as clothes folding, dish washing, organizing, or assembling Upload, organize, and label digital data via a computer Record and communicate operational and technical issues Support with test engineering activities, including experimentation, system assembly, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs - as appropriate to skill level.

Qualifications:

Experience in roles involving repeated, hands-on tasks (such as assembly, food service, retail stocking, trades, or similar work) Proficiency with garage-level hand tools (e.g. drill, screwdrivers, measuring equipment) Proficiency in use of a computer for data entry Familiarity with safety protocols in a lab, warehouse, or manufacturing environment Ability to learn new skills, and work with emerging technologies and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a technician, operator, or assembler at a technology company Experience in robotics Experience in setting up, executing, and logging engineering experiments Hands-on experience with assembly, repair, and re-work of electro-mechanical systems Hands-on experience with soldering, 3D printing, or software/coding

Other Benefits

Paid lunch. All breaks are paid! Flexible 20-40 hours per week Flexible 4-8 hour shifts within the hours of roughly 11am - 7pm Free Costco snacks Happy hours at Downeast Cider across the street!

Growth and Career Development

Full-time + Benefits Opportunity -- strong performance as a temporary employee can lead to a full-time role with world-class health insurance and benefits. We are always looking to retain high-performing team members!

Leadership or Technical Career Tracks -- We are a well-funded and high-growth early-stage robotics startup. As the company matures, you will have the opportunity to grow rapidly alongside the company. The two most common growth tracks are a leadership route managing teams of operators, and a technician route managing the health and repair of our inventory of equipment. That being said, if you are high-performing and eager to learn, we support any avenue for growth you want in your future.
