Position Overview




We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable

Robotics Coach

to lead our high school robotics team. The coach will mentor students in robotics design, programming, and competition strategy, while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation. The ideal candidate will guide students not only in technical skills, but also in collaboration, perseverance, and ethical decision-making rooted in Catholic values. The position is part-time/seasonal with potential for renewal annually.

Responsibilities


Organize, mentor, and supervise the high school robotics team, with the potential to expand to middle schools. Plan and lead regular practices, meetings, and workshops. Support students in building, programming, and testing robots for competitions (e.g., FIRST Robotics, VEX, or similar). Coordinate competition participation, including scheduling, travel, and logistics. Maintain safety standards and care of tools, equipment, and materials. Foster a positive, inclusive, and faith-filled team culture. Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parent volunteers to support the program.

Qualifications




Bachelor's degree in a related field (STEM, education, or equivalent experience preferred). Experience with robotics platforms (FIRST, VEX, LEGO, etc.), programming, or engineering concepts. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to mentor students in both technical and life skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Prior coaching or teaching experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of state and/or federal grants is a plus.

Hours & Compensation




Part-time, seasonal (hours vary by season and competition schedule). Practices typically held after school and on some weekends. Stipend commensurate with experience.
