The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana

Minimum Qualifications
--------------------------
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
Receive a shift report and assesses the need for reassignment of professional and paraprofessional personnel.
Organize duties and set priorities based on assessed needs and conditions
Prepare schedules and approve leave for the C/D Team nurses.
Schedule WAE and other staff on a monthly basis making necessary adjustments for optimal coverage of units.
Prepare aggregate report for monthly monitoring of identified performance improvement activities assigned to the C/D Team.
Establish and maintain a communication system with outside agencies such as law enforcement agencies, hospital, nursing homes and social service departments.
Maintain continuity of care by meeting with other RN Supervisor B's, Multi Area Managers, monthly Administrative Nursing and is an active participant.
Participate in the development of policy/procedures and regulations governing the nursing department.
Interpret policy and assures adherence to the same.
Document problems and elevates them to RN Director of nursing a when indicated.
Intervene in crisis situations and communicate with the patient utilizing therapeutic techniques and the least restrictive means to handle the situation.
Orient new staff members to their units and to the team routine.
Participate in collection of data for compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards and documentation of nursing statistics.
Facilitate emergency transfers of patients who are a danger to themselves or others to a more secure environment. R
Provide clinical consultation with physicians, treatment teams or nursing staff regarding patient's behavior on the C/D Team. Serves on committees as assigned. Conducts necessary in-service training/employee evaluation as indicated.
Provide clinical/psychiatric assignments on new admissions, sickbay patients and critically ill patients.
Assist the physicians in examining psychiatric/medical emergencies and coordinates the transport of critically ill patients to area hospitals.
Provide direct patient care when staffing needs arise.
Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the M.D. on a routine and emergency basis, requiring broad based knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and nursing skills. Interprets laboratory values and notifies M.D. of significant changes.

This position has an SER of $41.86 an hour or $3348.80 bi-weekly
This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
+ Facility Longevity - Starting at $2.00
+ Recruitment/Retention - $10.00
+ Recruitment/Retention - 2.00$ This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.*
