A day in the life of an RN at PSI

In this fulfilling role, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing and monitoring student health needs and providing appropriate nursing interventions and services as defined in the psi Health Resource Guide and the State Department of Health, according to acceptable nursing practice guidelines.
  • Interacting warmly with the students, always serving them with patience and kindness and, on occasion, administering prescribed medications, monitoring student behavior and reaction, providing first aid as required, and offering nursing interventions for acute and chronic medical complaints.
  • Completing required documentation of health services provided, oversee screenings, ensure immunization records are up to date for each student, and, on occasion, serve as the direct supervisor of the PSI Health Services Employees.
What is Required to be a District Nurse at PSI

The ideal candidate for this highly rewarding role will hold a valid Ohio RN license and be knowledgeable about OSHA guidelines, communicable disease prevention, medication protocols, medical records management, and crisis intervention procedures. School-based or pediatric experience is preferred, together with excellent organizational and time management skills. It\'s crucial to have a current CPR certification and to pass a comprehensive background check. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members, as well as knowledge of HIPAA laws and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality while using sound judgment in all aspects of the job, are a must.
