Require oncology/infusion/navigation experience
ONC (certified) or have bio therapy card preferred
Flu vaccine required
Current staff will need to be vaccinated
Active MA license required
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
Educate patients and their families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care strategies.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assist in procedures such as IV infusion, phlebotomy, and catheterization as needed.
Participate in case management activities, including discharge planning and coordination of care.
Engage in ongoing education related to oncology nursing practices and advancements.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Experience in oncology nursing or related fields such as critical care or emergency medicine is preferred.
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and NCQA standards.
Strong assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
Experience administering injections, IV insertion, tube feeding, and managing central lines.
Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with developmental disabilities or chronic illnesses.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
