We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing surgical procedures and those with medical conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of patient assessments, care planning, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The Registered Nurse will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and recovery.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
Perform specimen collection processing and assist with diagnostic tests.
Provide pain management support and education to patients and their families.
Assist in critical care transport as needed for patients requiring specialized care.
Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients.
Collaborate with surgical teams in the operating room (OR) as necessary.
Document all patient interactions accurately in the eClinicalWorks system.
Educate patients on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Experience in inpatient care, preferably within a Medical/Surgical setting.
Proficiency in pain management techniques and spinal tap procedures is preferred.
Familiarity with coding practices related to nursing documentation is a plus.
Experience in travel nursing or critical care transport is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of infection control practices.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
