About the Department

The

Medical Surgical Unit

specializes in the care of acutely ill adult patients and those requiring both emergent and elective surgeries. Our team of registered nurses and nurse assistants is committed to delivering the

highest standards of professional care

. Specialty certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing is strongly encouraged and supported to promote ongoing professional growth.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to acutely ill and post-surgical adults. Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately. Maintain patient safety and infection control standards. Support patients and families through effective communication and education.

Qualifications

Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license

(required upon submission).

BLS certification

(Healthcare Provider Level). Minimum

1 year recent Med-Surg experience

(required).

Epic EMR experience

(required). Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills.
