The GI Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of patients. Additionally, the GI Surgery RN role includes directing and supervising nursing care for patients in the gastroenterology setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
A current RN License in the State of Illinois is required.
Current CPR certification required
ACLS certification is preferred, required for critical care and ER
PALS certification required for ER and Pediatrics
NRP certification required for Special Care Nursery
Ability to quickly recognize changes in condition and needs of patients.
Knowledge of patient//'s growth and development needs.
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in carrying out work duties.
