Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations. This role provides leadership and direction to the nursing and interdisciplinary team, ensuring excellence in hospice care while upholding the organization's mission, values, and goals.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to the hospice clinical team, including nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and other interdisciplinary staff.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and accreditation standards.
Oversee hospice admissions, patient care plans, and clinical documentation to ensure timely, appropriate, and high-quality care.
Collaborate with the Medical Director, Executive Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered, evidence-based hospice care.
Monitor clinical performance metrics, ensuring goals for patient care, satisfaction, and regulatory compliance are met.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care and operational efficiency.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
Conduct regular case reviews, team meetings, and performance evaluations to ensure quality improvement and adherence to best practices.
Investigate and resolve patient/family concerns and complaints, implementing corrective action plans as needed.
Work collaboratively with the business development team to support growth strategies, referral relationships, and community outreach.
Maintain an effective on-call system to ensure 24/7 nursing coverage and patient support.
Oversee compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and emergency preparedness plans.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient needs and maintain operational efficiency.
Manage clinical budgets and resource allocation in coordination with the Executive Director and leadership team.
Additional Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Conforms to all applicable Agency policies and procedures.
Participates actively in continuing education and in-services.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information and business trade practices
Assumes accountability for reporting incidents and complaints according to Agency policy.

Minimum Position Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a nursing.
Experience:
5 years nursing experience ; 3 years in hospice leadership
License / Certification:
Driver's license and proof of current auto liability insurance; no listing in the OIG Excluded Provider listing
RN license in the state of employment
Environmental Conditions:
Works under a variety of conditions in facilities and offices; ability to work flexible schedule, ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather. Moderate noise level; tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens; moderate stress and emotional demands.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting is required. Requires ability to always handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and agency needs. Ability to travel.
