Supervisory Scope
No direct supervisory responsibilities initially.
May assist in
training and mentoring
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians, and other clinical staff as the program expands.
Expected to contribute to
staff orientation, education, and competency development

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care
Conduct comprehensive
patient assessments
, monitor vital signs, and manage care during dialysis, TPE, and LDL apheresis treatments.
Initiate, monitor, and discontinue treatments per
physician orders
and established protocols.
Maintain and manage
vascular access devices
(CVCs, peripheral IVs) using strict aseptic technique.
Administer prescribed
medications, fluids, and replacement solutions
.
Recognize and respond promptly to
patient complications and medical emergencies
.

Program Start-Up & Development
Assist in developing
clinical workflows
and operational protocols for dialysis and apheresis services.
Collaborate with the
Program Manager
on staff training, quality assurance, and compliance with
regulatory and accreditation standards
.
Support staff competency evaluations and ongoing training as services expand.

Patient & Family Education
Educate patients and families on
treatment procedures, ongoing care, and self-management
strategies.
Provide
emotional support
and compassionate counseling throughout the treatment process.
Accurately document all
education, treatment details, and progress
in the
electronic health record (EHR)
.

Quality & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with
CMS, FDA, Joint Commission, and AABB
standards.
Participate in
infection prevention
, safety rounds, and
continuous quality improvement
initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reporting, and quality logs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure & Certifications
Required
Current, unrestricted
Registered Nurse (RN) license
in the
State of Wyoming
(or eligibility to obtain).
Basic Life Support (BLS)
and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certifications.
Preferred
Certification in
Nephrology Nursing (CNN)
or
Apheresis Nursing (CAPHN)
.
Prior training or experience in dialysis and apheresis preferred;
training provided
for motivated candidates.

Experience
1-2 years
of nursing experience in
dialysis, critical care, or apheresis
preferred.
Strong
IV therapy
and
vascular access management
skills required.
Prior experience in
program start-up or development
environments is a plus.
