Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with specialized experience in cardiac catheterization and critical care. This role requires a compassionate individual who is committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details



On-Call required 40hr weeks, day shift 4x 10 hr (8-6p or 7-5p) Call is 12 hr overnights and/or weekends Not set minimums or maximums for travelers, just based on department needs Typically looks like 2-3 call shifts overnight/week and/or 1-2 weekends/month. 30 minute response times. BSN preferred Cath Lab experience required interventional radiology experience preferred EPIC experience preferred previous travel experience preferred proficient in balloon pumps, and who can take call for STEM BLS, ACLS License Active MA license required

Responsibilities



Provide direct patient care in the catheterization lab, ensuring safety and comfort during procedures. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their condition before, during, and after procedures. Assist in the preparation of patients for catheterization procedures, including education on the process and potential risks. Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Administer medications and perform IV infusions as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards. Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and lifestyle modifications.

Skills



Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. Experience with cardiac catheterization techniques and patient assessment. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices. Strong skills in IV insertion, medication administration, phlebotomy, and basic life support. Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Experience in various nursing settings including ICU, emergency medicine, outpatient care, or home health.
