Girl Scouts Louisiana East is hiring a

Part-Time Riding Instructor

to lead Western riding lessons, teach horsemanship skills, and care for our horse herd at beautiful Camp Marydale in St. Francisville, LA. Youll create safe, fun, and unforgettable equestrian experiences for campers while mentoring volunteers and modeling Girl Scout values.

What Youll Do
Teach Western riding lessons and horsemanship (grooming, tacking, mucking, leading, etc.).
Care for horses daily, including feeding, grooming, medications, and health checks.
Supervise and support volunteers in equestrian program areas.
Maintain arenas, tack, and facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
Represent Girl Scouts professionally and help create an inclusive, supportive camp environment.


What Were Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
2+ years experience in Western riding/programming and horse care.
Current (or willing to obtain) CPR & First Aid certification.
Skills in haltering, leading, grooming, wrapping legs, bathing, and cooling horses.
Passion for working with youth, teamwork, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Driving experience with valid drivers license and insurance; 18 years or older.
Membership in Girl Scouts of the USA (required upon hire).
