Returns Outlier Analyst

Job Description

In this Secondary Markets Returns Outlier Analyst role, you will focus on data analytics to identify return outliers and recommend strategies to reduce product returns. You'll use outputs from AI models, statistical reporting, and independent research to pinpoint products with statistically high return rates and, more importantly, uncover the reasons behind them. Leveraging your expertise in analytics, process understanding, forecasting, and business systems you will provide actionable recommendations to internal teams and external partners backed by data. You'll contribute to change management initiatives, support complex projects, and influence decisions within the reverse supply chain. This high-visibility position plays a critical role in shaping our returns strategy and achieving enterprise goals.



This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.



What you'll do

Analyze return data from multiple sources while using industry insights to develop and share critical reporting

Identify areas of opportunity while working closely with category partners and external vendors

Translate data analytics and complex scenarios in an actionable way to cross-functional partners and leaders

Interact with multiple functions across the company, influencing decision making outside of your immediate team

Help manage opportunities across the organization to achieve customer-focused goals

Basic qualifications

Strong ability to perform data analysis leading to insights and business recommendations

Advanced written and verbal communication skills

Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, Power point)

Preferred qualifications

2 years of experience in retail, supply chain, business management, merchandising or related field

2 years of experience delivering analysis and insights on data and recommendations

2 years of experience working with business and financial concepts

2 years of experience navigating through various systems to obtain information and create advanced spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks
