JL Theis, Inc. is a Highway/Heavy Contractor committed to providing high-quality and reliable work. We strive to create a safe and efficient crew of construction workers. We perform big block and small block walls for MNDOT, county and city contracts around the Twin Cities Metro area.

Currently, we are seeking a motivated and experienced retaining wall laborer or operator familiar with big block walls (Recon, RediRock) and 8" Anchor Block walls. Metro Union Wages and benefits are offered to all qualified applicants. This is a career job with great benefits and pay scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting line and grade, set base row, grading, and pouring concrete footings, setting block Follow directions of foreman for each project Operate small equipment (chop saw, laser, compactors, etc.) Ability to operate CAT skid loader and excavator is a bonus
Qualifications:

Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check Minimum 2 years retaining wall installation experience Must possess a valid driver's license CDL A license a plus but not required Proficient operator of skid loader or excavator a plus, but not required. Willing to work in a Team environment Individuals will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and additional PPE, as needed Physically able to lift and carry over 80 lbs. Ability of work in hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty environments
Benefits:

Union Contractor Year-Round work available depending upon qualifications Monday-Friday with overtime each day Occasional Saturday work Work is primarily in the Twin Cities Metro area Limited travelling, home each night Benefits provided by the applicant's union affiliation (Laborers 563, Operators Local 49, Cement Masons Local 633): health, dental, vision, pension, training Overtime pay at 1.5x
Wage: $44.00 - $47.00 per hour + Union benefits (depending upon union affiliation)
