Overview



The Retail Shop Manager is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of all retail staff, while also supporting the rental team as needed. This role oversees retail operations and inventory management and ensures exceptional guest service in all areas of the shop. The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining accurate equipment sizing and fit, providing information to guests, and supporting overall mountain operations through collaboration with multiple departments.

Primary Responsibilities



Staff Leadership & Operations



Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all Retail Shop employees. Assist with hiring, training, and scheduling for the Rental Shop as needed. Prepare and post weekly schedules at least one week in advance. Monitor staff performance and payroll hours, including canceling or adjusting shifts as necessary. Provide ongoing guidance and direction to team members to maintain smooth daily operations. Attend weekly managers' meetings and contribute to interdepartmental communication.

Retail & Rental Operations



Oversee daily retail operations including point of sale transactions, cash handling, and inventory tracking. Manage stock levels, monitor sales trends, and ensure proper documentation of services and lease agreements. Handle customer inquiries, grievances, and resolve issues with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area. Assist in the rental shop when needed, including fitting customers with equipment and explaining product features. Obtain binding setting certification (training provided).

Guest Service & Communication



Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to guests, including: Information on equipment and sizing for proper and safe fit. General information about the ski area. Registration assistance for Snowsports programs and walk-in program signups. Basic answers to questions regarding lesson programs and mountain services. Answer phones and assist with guest inquiries in a courteous, professional manner. Interact effectively with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Additional Responsibilities



Perform light snow removal as needed around the shop entrance and assign tasks to team members as appropriate. Maintain familiarity with basic equipment services. Complete any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements



Ability to stand for extended periods and work long hours. Comfortable with lifting and moving boxes and retail equipment. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and during peak business periods. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Must maintain a clean and professional appearance and wear the required uniform while on duty. Jeans are acceptable if in good repair. Willingness to work briefly outdoors in winter conditions when needed.

What You Can Expect From Us



Work Schedules:

Vary seven days a week, depending on weather conditions and guest attendance.

Seasonal Employment:

Typically runs from early August- May.

Base Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
