The Role

We're looking for a friendly, dependable

Retail Associate

to join our team at the

Vella & Co. Candle Studio

. You'll help create a welcoming environment for guests -- from assisting shoppers and restocking candles to helping host our fun, hands-on

candle-pouring classes and private events

.

You'll often work independently, so reliability and strong customer service skills are key. Training is provided.

What You'll Do

Greet customers and assist with candle and gift purchases Open and close the store, ensuring everything runs smoothly Help set up, assist, and clean up during candle-pouring workshops Restock shelves, process sales, and maintain a tidy, inviting space Answer customer questions in person and by phone Represent the Vella & Co. and Vellabox brands with a positive, professional attitude

Who You Are

Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working solo Friendly and outgoing with great communication skills Detail-oriented and self-motivated Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Previous retail or hospitality experience preferred (but not required) Available to work

every other weekend (Friday evening & Saturday's)

with potential for special events

Optional Additional Roles:

Looking for extra hours or more variety? We have opportunities for additional part-time or as-needed roles:

Market Associate (part-time):

Attend local markets to set up and sell our candles. Hours & dates are subject to market acceptance but are expected to increase as we expand to attend multiple markets weekly within Columbus and surrounding areas.*

Sales Coordinator - Excess Supplies (part-time)

: Manage the sale of excess inventory and supplies from our production facility in Bexley. Responsibilities include photographing and listing products on sales platforms (internal portal, eBay, Amazon, etc.), handling inquiries, and coordinating the sale and shipment of items.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
