We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail and Hospitality Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail operations. This role involves overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and supporting sales growth. The Retail Assistant Manager will play a key role in maintaining store efficiency, implementing merchandising strategies, and fostering a positive shopping environment. Experience in retail management, team supervision, and inventory control are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily operations to ensure smooth functioning and high customer satisfaction
Supervise and motivate staff, including training new employees and conducting performance evaluations
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize sales potential
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained
Manage POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering duties accurately
Support purchasing decisions and coordinate with suppliers to maintain inventory levels
Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales
Assist with budgeting, sales management, and pricing strategies to meet financial targets
Conduct employee orientation sessions and participate in interviewing prospective team members
Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store procedures
Utilize organizational skills to manage shift schedules, payroll processing, and administrative tasks
Requirements
Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math calculations
Skilled in negotiation, merchandising, stock control, and sales management techniques
Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform cashiering duties efficiently
Experience with employee recruitment, training & development, and team management
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to retail settings including wireless sales or grocery stores preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, pricing strategies, and retail operations efficiently
Excellent phone etiquette, customer service orientation, and time management skills
