Position Hours: 30-38 hours per week including weekends

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to create sales, while providing customer care and assistance to do-it-yourself and contractor customers. This position works under the direction of the store manager and must work closely with customers and other store associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Care- Provide customer care through courteous, efficient, and attentive service in a timely manner. Effectively share product knowledge and provide direction, as necessary, to meet the needs of customers. Product Knowledge- General knowledge of merchandise, including, but not limited to, products carried, location in department, product information and application, and pricing. Sales- Create sales by assisting customers with product selection, suggesting complimentary merchandise, encouraging add-on sales, generating transfers, and producing special orders. Inventory Control- Fix department inventory concerns, including stock shrinkages, outs and overages as needed. Ensure merchandise reflects current price. Communicate inventory issues to Management. Stock- Stock incoming freight neatly and in appropriate locations. Regularly face and front merchandise within department. Down stock merchandise as needed to maintain full shelves. Ensure all incoming stock is put away in a timely manner to ensure easy access, safety and loss control. Loss Control- Use shoplifting indicators and excellent customer care to deter and prevent shoplifting.

Other Duties:

Assist with periodic inventories, as needed. Maintain a clean, neat and organized store. Create and maintain displays as needed. Answer phones. Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

:

Retail experience required Retail hardware experience preferred. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift merchandise up to 50 lbs for the majority of the workday. Must have basic computer knowledge. Must have the ability to read and write English and have basic math skills, including measurement, conversions and determining quantity needed. Must be dependable. Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position, dependable regular attendance is required.
