Assistant Manager - Bookstore

Ten Trees Books is an independently owned and operated bookstore located in the heart of historic Natick Center. We are a small team and this is a roll will be critical to the growth of the business. We are looking for an experienced retailer to provide excellent customer service and and manage our business on nights and weekends. The desired candidate should be committed to and passionate about investing in the community and sharing their love of books.

What you'll do:

Interact with customers and provide recommendations to customers of all ages Receive and display new merchandise and restock throughout the day Stay abreast of new titles and displays throughout the store Provide excellent customer service both over the phone and in-store
What we need:

Previous experience working in a retail setting is required Available nights and weekends. Familiarity with book selling including genres and other publishing terms. Proactive with straightening, restocking, and other projects Energetic team player who is open to learning our systems and takes direction well Ability to lift boxes 40lbs or more. Capable of climbing stairs regularly throughout each shift. Skilled at providing exceptional customer service Effective communicator Excellent time and task management Dependable and punctual Detailed-oriented, organized, and vigilant about keeping books restocked and workspaces tidy and organized Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a pleasant disposition Unafraid of hard work, heavy lifting at times, and long days on one's feet
Special Considerations

Looking for a long-term, 22.5hr/wk employee who will become engaged with the community Able to work multiple shifts per week, between the hours of 10 am and 8 pm, spread over seven days a week; we try to keep a steady monthly schedule - flexibility is required, and must be able to work evenings, and weekends
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour
