We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead store operations, manage staff, and enhance customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy
Implement effective pricing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales
Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and performance evaluations
Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members to build a strong retail team
Coordinate purchasing decisions and vendor relations for inventory procurement
Monitor store performance through retail math, sales management metrics, and inventory control measures
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards while fostering a positive shopping environment
Utilize marketing strategies including wireless sales techniques to attract customers
Maintain excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills to support efficient store operations
Experience
Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within grocery stores or similar retail environments
Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in a fast-paced setting
Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, merchandising, POS systems, and retail math
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
Experience with employee recruitment, training & development, payroll processing, and budgeting
Familiarity with retail sales techniques, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and stock management
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage cashiering responsibilities effectively
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage time effectively
