Summary:


Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new or used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials, and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. ReStores are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity Affiliates. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance, and shelter in local communities and around the world.

As a warehouse supervisor, you will work closely with the ReStore Manager and be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, managing, and supervising all warehouse activities daily.

ReStore Manager

Status:

Full-time, including regular availability for weekend and evening hours.

Permits and Licenses:

Valid driver's license, Forklift Certification

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee and manage all warehouse operations in order to meet company and department goals.

Ensure timely and efficient movement of donations to deliver fast and quality service.

Communicate the status of pick-ups to customers and dispatchers/drivers as needed to ensure great customer service.

Supervise daily product flow, ensuring donations are handled with care and efficiency (e.g. monitoring the flow from drop-off testing to clean-up to pricing) .

Assisting donors with donation drop-offs.

Operate donation trucks in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner.

Record and maintain donation receipt pick-up slips.

Load and unload merchandise routinely.

Stack, pad, and secure items in position on the truck to prevent damage during delivery.

Check items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.

Audit and report inventory.

Manage and train warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.

Act as a conduit between the back room and the sales floor through the ReStore Manager.

Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the processing room.

Maintain cleanliness of trucks' interiors and exterior (cab: daily, exterior: weekly)

Regular maintenance and safety checks to ensure the readiness of trucks and equipment, including reporting any maintenance concerns to the ReStore Manager.

Regular communication with the ReStore Manager.

Professional and courteous interaction with donors, including utmost care and concern for personal property.

Daily opening task list and duties.

Daily closing task list and duties.

Other Responsibilities:



Communicate the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Assist with Habitat special events.

Comply with all policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager or Executive Director.

Requirements:



Integrity, credibility, and commitment to Habitat's mission.

Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds.

Drivers must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance. This requires five years of driving experience and a favorable driving record.

Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Ability to spend the majority of the day in the warehouse.

Ability to spend the majority of the day standing or moving about. Work may require climbing ladders, considerable standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Forklift certification.

Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.

Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or similar management position.

Product knowledge and pricing

Knowledge of retail sales and/or retail experience

Time management skills and the ability to delegate.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, data entry software, and other programs as necessary.

Problem-solving skills.

This position requires the physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The position requires clarity of vision at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses, and color determination vision. The position requires the ability to climb ladders or scaffolding up to 6 feet high, grasp, reach, stoop, speak, listen, and distinguish differences in odors. Employees must be able to lift carry, push, and pull objects up to 75 lbs. The normal workplace will be in the ReStore warehouse and sales floor, which are smoke-free. Work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, possibly outdoors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
