Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Restorative Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting patient recovery and maintaining quality of life through personalized care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various healthcare settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, or specialized units such as ICU or trauma centers. Experience with medical documentation, EMR/EHR systems, and patient care techniques is highly valued. Duties
Assist patients with daily activities such as mobility, hygiene, and nutrition, ensuring comfort and safety.
Implement restorative care plans aimed at improving or maintaining patients' functional abilities.
Monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and progress using EMR/EHR systems with accuracy and attention to detail.
Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavioral health management.
Use appropriate techniques for catheter care, medication administration, and aseptic procedures to prevent infection.
Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely during patient transfers.
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
Participate in patient education regarding health maintenance and recovery strategies.
Maintain a clean and safe environment adhering to infection control protocols for infectious disease care and acute care settings.
Qualifications
Must possess an active CNA certificate valid in this state.
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous.
Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or other relevant healthcare certifications are required.
Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, or behavioral health needs is desirable.
Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient service standards essential for effective caregiving.
Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina such as lifting (including Hoyer lifts), assisting with mobility, and standing for extended periods.
Strong communication skills coupled with compassion for patient-centered care are necessary. This position is integral to providing high-quality restorative nursing services that promote independence and well-being among our patients.
