The Restorative Nurse Aide/Activities Coordinator supports residents' overall well-being by implementing and facilitating activity programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional engagement. Working in collaboration with the Life Enrichment Department, this role plans and delivers both group and one-on-one activities tailored to each resident's abilities, interests, and care needs. The Restorative Nurse Aide/Activities Coordinator fosters participation from residents, team members, and visitors, ensuring activities are safe, meaningful, and accessible. By observing and reporting resident responses, maintaining a welcoming activity environment, and encouraging social connection, this position helps create a vibrant and person-centered community.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY:
Coordinates activities with the Life Enrichment Department to enhance resident engagement.
Supports the volunteer efforts on the unit, including volunteer compliance, orientation, and organization of activities.
Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a variety of therapeutic activities tailored to the needs of residents, including emotional, physical, intellectual, community, and sensory based activities.
Encourages resident, team member, and visitor involvement in activities, adapting them to suit individual abilities and preferences.
Provides one-on-one attention to residents who may not participate in group activities.
Help prepare activity materials and maintain a clean and safe environment for events.
Escorts residents to and from activity areas as needed.
Observe residents' responses to activities and report significant changes to Nursing leadership.
Actively participates in regular staff meetings and staff development, as required.
Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Nursing Manager or Assisted Living Manager.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Verifiable, certified caregiver within the State of Arizona
Current fingerprint clearance card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Memory care training, as required by the Department of Health Services (Or able to receive within 30 days of hire).
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours.
Can lift up to 40 pounds.
Can sustain prolonged standing, sitting, or walking.
