Role Overview

A food runner helps the wait staff improve the dining experience for customers. They play a crucial part in a restaurant, performing a range of duties including assisting guests with orders, running out foods to the guests table, and retrieving empty plates on their way back.

Responsibilities & Duties

? Primary job functions include loading food onto the runner's cart, double checking orders, running food out from kitchen to customer, making sure customers receive accurate food

? Menu knowledge should be extensive. Awareness and ability to describe all food, drink, and special menu items, if asked by a guest

? Attention to detail and organization skills to ensure the correct food orders are matched to the correct guest

? Cleaning and refilling all food plates, bowls, and utensils

? Ability to lift boxes occasionally up to 25lbs. Standing on one's feet in a fast paced environment for a period of approximately 4 hours or longer

? At the end of the shift, the dining room is broken down and reset for the next day's service, including all busser carts, soup trays, kitchen tools, and garbage pails cleaned/lined

? May be asked to perform other related tasks or duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

Minimum - No prior restaurant experience is necessary

Preferred - 1+ years prior restaurant experience
