Performs reprocessing of equipment and maintains supplies for respiratory services.


Perform duties which require expertise in high level disinfection, assembly, calibration, troubleshooting and transporting of respiratory related equipment. Fulfills all requirements for documentation to ensure the department is able to distribute high quality products in an efficient manner to effectively meet the requirements. Maintains an advanced thorough knowledge of high-level disinfection, equipment set-up and infection control standards. Performs support duties for the department such as maintaining inventory of equipment, stocks, verifies proper functioning and placement of equipment, troubleshoots and performs quality assurance testing on equipment.


Supports clinical activity through cooperation and communication with Providers and staff. Works effectively as a team member within department to provide quality service to hospital units through communication, cooperation, and collaboration in order to respond to problems that arise.



Performs reprocessing of equipment Performs high level disinfection for reusable equipment based on manufacturer recommendations. Performs decontamination of instruments and equipment in accordance to department policies, infection prevention guidelines and manufacturer's written instructions. Adheres to Safety Standards, Blood and Bodily Fluid Precautions and Hand Washing. Efficiently and accurately inspects, assembles, sets-up and wraps instruments and supplies in preparation and packaging area of Equipment Clean room according to priority needs and daily assignments. Assembles, calibrates, performs first line troubleshooting and performs quality assurance testing of equipment to verify proper functioning of equipment to ensure patient safety. If unable to troubleshoot, follows guidelines to report malfunctioning equipment. Take inventory on all clinical floors as required; replenishes/delivers respiratory equipment and supplies and oxygen tanks by par level. Stocking of supply carts, closets, and bins in all respiratory areas. Ensures all equipment and supplies to and from designated areas are completed in a timely manner. Transports equipment in a timely manner to and from designated areas of the department. Places supply orders, coordinates equipment needs with internal and external departments to ensure availability of equipment in all designated areas required to deliver expedient patient care. Perform other related duties as required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Required:



Education: High school diploma or equivalent required at minimum. Experience: Experience in the healthcare environment required.
Education and/or Experience Preferred:


Education: Associates degree or higher preferred. Experience: One year experience in high level disinfection or in healthcare environment in the coordination of equipment needs, supply/equipment ordering preferred.

Abilities:


* Demonstrates ability to manage and execute proper inventory, adherence to standard setup, quality assurance and timely delivery of end product. Utilizes proper forms and procedures to document picking of each item.
