JOB SUMMARY
The Residential Support Worker provides continuous awake supervision and supportive services to residents in a women's residential program. This role helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and supports the implementation of services aligned with each client's Individualized/Master Treatment Plan. Coverage primarily includes evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
JOB DUTIES
Provide continuous awake supervision of residents and the facility to ensure safety and security
Assist counselors and clinical staff as needed
Use sound judgment and follow agency protocols during medical, psychiatric, and life-safety emergencies
Monitor client self-medication procedures and report concerns to nursing staff and the Assistant Program Manager
Communicate promptly with leadership regarding operational issues or client behavioral concerns
Support clients with meal preparation and service according to the residential menu
Develop and oversee chore and laundry schedules; train and assist clients in completing daily tasks
Plan and implement structured daily living skills activities, including safety and fire drills
Supervise residents during approved outings, field trips, and recreational activities
Monitor phone usage, visitors, and supplies to maintain a safe and secure environment
Complete all required documentation accurately and on time
Meet productivity requirements (minimum of 7 hours weekly, including individual and group notes)
Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and required trainings
Secure the facility at the end of each shift (doors, windows, appliances, etc.)
Perform light housekeeping duties
Maintain satisfactory attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience in a residential, behavioral health, or human services setting preferred
Valid Driver's License preferred
Knowledge of basic cooking and housekeeping skills
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Basic documentation and reporting skills
Patience, empathy, and sensitivity to the needs of adult women in treatment
Must be trainable and open to ongoing skill development
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a residential/office environment
Moderate physical activity required
Ability to lift 25-50 pounds
Extended periods of standing and walking may be required
Must be able to access buildings that are not fully handicap-accessible

Occupational Risk for Exposure to TB:
There is an occupational risk for exposure to TB, as this position involves extensive community and patient contact. Employees in this role are required to comply with annual TB testing as part of workplace health and safety protocols. The only acceptable exceptions to this requirement are documented medical contraindications or religious objections. Employees who decline TB testing will be required to wear a mask when deemed necessary.
