Community Alliance is offering an Intermediate Psychiatric Residential Services

Residential Support Aide

to work in one of our residential locations to provide day-to-day

housekeeping

and work with individuals to enhance their skills in caring for their own personal space. Persons served are individuals who need a structured recovery environment to reduce hospitalizations and increase independent living.



Duties Include




Overall Housekeeping duties Assist persons served with personal hygiene and grooming needs such as dressing, shaving, denture care, hair care, foot/skin care, etc. Assist with overall wellness and health maintenance. Help prepare and cook meals. Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms/showers, and common areas including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping. Help persons served with laundry needs by washing, folding, distributing, and keeping laundry clean and organized. Provide a safe and supportive living environment. Create recreation and leisure activities. Assist in the continuing development and enhancement of agency-wide tobacco cessation and other wellness initiatives based on evidence-based practices. Provide support to other team members in their area of expertise to increase inter-professional staff knowledge and effectiveness. Contributes as a member of the rehabilitation and integrated health treatment team and care plan.

Minimum Qualifications


High school diploma or GED required. 6 months to 1 year of housekeeping experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of characteristics and needs of persons with a serious mental illness, including persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders, family members, behavioral health professionals, government representatives, and the public at large. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Possession of valid driver's license and good driving record, or ability to arrange for reliable transportation.
