Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
Supervise a group of Residential Services Specialists (RSS) in carrying out active treatment plans and basic care for persons with developmental disabilities.
Direct subordinates in the training and guidance of individuals in routine and simple self-help skills such as good hygiene, feeding and dressing, and good housekeeping.
Direct subordinates to ensure individuals are supported in personal and social growth by supporting friendships and activities in the community. Direct subordinates to ensure that individuals are treated respectfully and fairly. Will be required to work with a group of individuals to ensure adequate supervision when necessary.
Assist in interviewing, scheduling work, evaluating performance, and resolving problems in order that individuals experience continuity and security.
Interpret directives and policies of a higher authority to subordinate staff, including information related to the attainment of personal outcomes for individuals.
Requisition needed supplies, equipment, and repairs for living areas. Monitor the physical environment to ensure that individuals are able to use their environments. Review and report on individuals' progress in specific training programs. Ensure that individuals' records are maintained with current and precise documentation in accordance with all federal, state, and agency regulations. Must attend mandated annual training.
Report and assist in the investigation of all cases of accidents, injuries, and suspected cases of abuse/neglect to ensure that individuals have the best possible health and are free from abuse and neglect. May be required to testify at Civil Service hearings regarding disciplinary action taken in cases of abuse/neglect.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Administrator to support the Agency and/or the people we serve.
This position may be filled by Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.
Career Progression Group: Residential Service Specialist 1 or 2.
This position may receive shift differential, longevity pay, and Premium Pay.
