Position Title: Residential Plumbing Apprentice
Reports To: Master Plumber / Owner
Summary
The Plumber's Helper supports licensed plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems. The role includes preparing tools and materials, performing basic labor tasks, and assisting with job-site cleanup to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Repair Support
Assist plumbers with installing pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems.
Hold, measure, cut, and assemble pipes using hand and power tools.
Help identify plumbing issues and support the repair process.
Transport and position materials, tools, and equipment.
Job Site Tasks
Prepare work areas by clearing debris and setting up safety equipment.
Clean up job sites after work is completed, ensuring tools are stored properly.
Operate basic machinery (pipe threaders, cutters, drills) under supervision.
Tools & Materials Management
Load and unload materials from trucks.
Maintain and organize tool inventory.
Mix pipe adhesives, apply sealants, and assist with basic soldering or PVC gluing when directed.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Use proper PPE at all times.
Report hazards, damaged tools, or unsafe conditions.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plumbing skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
Previous construction or labor experience.
Enrollment in or interest in a plumbing apprenticeship.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
